Barbara Ann Brogsdale, 75 of Newark, NJ.  

OBITUARY

 Ms. Barbara Ann Brogsdale  was born  September 25, 1947, to the parentage of the late John and Jean Wilfred in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Ms. Barbara met Ernest Brogsdale and they were married on July 14, 1975. She departed this life on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown.  She  is predeceased in death by her parents.

Barbara attended South Side High School in Newark, New Jersey before continuing her education by attending Essex County College.  Following her mother’s footsteps, she took up Nursing and worked at Newark Airport while attending school.  After finishing college, Barbara began her career in nursing at the Essex County Geriatric Center alongside her mother.

Barbara was an amazing woman and a true light in this world.  She touched the lives of many with her compassionate spirit, warm heart, and loving nature.  She was an inspiring role model to those who knew her, and was driven in her career, generous with her time, and always ready to lend a helping hand.  Her kind and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.  Barbara was taken from us too soon but leaves behind  a beautiful legacy of love, joy and compassion that will live on in our hearts forever.

Barbara is survived  by and  leaves to cherish her memories  two brothers, John (Lady Ann) Wilfred and Michael Wilfred, sister Joan Austin, three sons, Mark Brogsdale, Darrin (Tammy) Brogsdale, Dana Brogsdale, two daughters Carla (Howard) McKie, Monica Cooper. A special aunt Marilyn Elward, grandchildren Keisha Richardson, Michele (Terry) Booker , Aniyah (Amir) Myers, Diyori Brogsdale, Zory Brogsdale, Qadir Brogsdale, Michael Richardson, Mark Brogsdale, Jr., and Na’Shawn Brogsdale. A host of great grand nieces and nephews, family and friends, close friends Henry Evans, Lisa Spencer, Shirley Mincey and Janice Wilkerson. Homegoing Services will be held 10:00am Tuesday May 2, 2023 at First Zion Baptist Missionary Church 253 Bergen Street, Newark.
