Early D. Jackson
Former owner/operator, Jackson Beauty Salon, Newark
Mr. Early D Jackson passed away Wednesday December 4, 2019. He was born in Ashford, Alabama on July 20, 1937 to the late Leonard and Larsie Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by 4 brothers; Coley Jackson, Esto Jackson, Connie Jackson and Charles Jackson.
Early D attended Ashford High School and relocated to Bronx, NY in 1954 where he attended Morris High School. Early D served honorably in the United States Navy, active duty plus reserve service for 9 years. When Early returned home from the Navy, he completed his degree in Cosmetology and Beauty Culture from Jersey City Medical Center College. Early was the owner/operator of Jackson Beauty Salon in Newark, NJ for 30 years. He also taught at Wilfred Academy and Essie Mae Beauty School for many years until he retired in 2000. He was known throughout the community as an avid gardener and shared his vegetables with others. He was outgoing and friendly and had much respect and love from everyone.
Early D Jackson leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Henrietta Jackson, 4 children ; Early Jackson (Willia) Horace Jackson (Tangela), Michael Jackson (Golden), Christine Palms (Christopher), 1 brother ; Waudale Jackson (Mary), 3 sisters; Lucinda Edwards, Geraldine Wilson, Della Mae Plowden, 8 grandchildren; Early Jackson III, Daren Jackson, Jamel Jackson, Shalese Franklin,Quinton Palms, Donovan Jackson, Jalil Palms, Asha Palms, 3 great-grandchildren; Christopher Trey Jackson, Jaden Patrick Jackson, Mia Isabelle Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday December 14, 2019 from 9:00am to 10:00am. The funeral services will be 10:00am. at First Zion Hope Mission Baptist Church 253 Bergen Street, Newark, NJ. Arrangements are entrusted to Lombardi Funeral Home. To send online condolences visit www.lombardifuneralhome.com
