NELLY SILVA

Nelly Silva age 99, of Monroe N.J. passed away peacefully on January 17, 2022.  Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico to Oscar Portocarrero  Perez and Nelly Arroyo Roque, she traveled as a teenager to live with relatives in New York City, after the death of her own dear mother.  It was here that she met and married her first husband, Michael Psaroudis, and together they raised four children.  He passed away in 1971, but  eventually she found love again, spending thirty happy years with her second husband, Ramon Silva, who also predeceased her, along with a beloved daughter, Deanna Barbosa.
 
She is survived by her sons, Michael Psaroudis Jr (Barbara) of Hamburg N.J., Dennis Psaroudis of Bethel N.Y., and James Psaroudis (Leslie) of Hamilton N.J., and 12 grandchildren, as well as many great and great-great grandchildren.
 
As the matriarch of a large and loving family, she will be remembered for creating delicious meals that brought her family together. She had a generous spirit and a sweet disposition, endearing her to friends and neighbors alike.  
 
A Celebration of Life and Interment will take place at a later date.
