Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother

Wilhelmina H. Corbett 87 of Newark, NJ departed from this life on May 3, 2021. Born December 20, 1933 to the late Mr. & Mrs. William and Annie Mae Jiviens in Columbia, South Carolina. Wilhelmina was the baby of 4 Siblings the late Bessie, Anna Lou and Twin Brother William H Jiviens Jr. She Lived most of her life in Newark, NJ. Wilhelmina retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in East Orange where she worked as a food service specialist. She was employed by the Newark Board of Education School for the Deaf. She Also worked with the  Newark NJ Foster care system caring for children. Wilhelmina was a faithful member of Holy Temple COGIC now Smith Memorial COGIC for over 65 years. She has served with the Nurses Unit, Hospitality Unit, Howard Smith Chorus, and a host of others.

Wilhelmina was preceded in death by 2 sons- Freddie Jiviens and Antwan Corbett, 2 Grandsons – Artice and Darnell Alston. She is .survived by 9 Children – Glory Alston, Jearl Corbett, Theresa Corbett, Kandice Corbett, Rodney Corbett, Latonya Corbett, Crystal Corbett, Cynthia Owens, James Epps. 23 Grandchildren- Chereese, Kareem, Constina, Atrisha, Al-Tarik, Deshon, Korey, Jaton, Janayah, Nikia, Ebonie, Michael, Olivia, Silvia, Adonis, Aminah, Deshia, Rahmeer, Amayah, Amani, Antwan, Ayanna, Damarcus.  14 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and 5 God children Pamela, Dorian, Diane, Lisa, Sinclair. And a host of Family and Friends. Arrangement is in the loving care of Lombardi Funeral Home Caldwell, NJ.

 A celebration of her life will be held Monday May 10, 2021 at Smith Memorial Church of God in Christ 16 Stratford Place Newark, NJ  07108.  Viewing will be 10:00am to 11:00am followed by the service.  Interment will be Rosedale Cemetery Orange, NJ.
